Lethal Obsession is Masterful World Building

Fans of Michele Montgomery's Lethal Obsession series will be thrilled to learn that she has a new blog in which the characters themselves speak in their own voices. Rather than telling their story, she allows her characters to speak for themselves.
The series began with a short story called Tony and Ryan,
and now Montgomery is working on the third book.
She is also due to release a new novel, Dammit!, in March of 2012 by Seventh Window Publishing. http://www.seventhwindow.com/ Here is the blurb:
Escaping the past isn’t easy, especially when the scars left behind are a constant reminder that trust and love can, indeed, hurt very much. Michael McKnight knows better than anyone what it means to be on the run from the memories that have haunted him since he escaped an abusive relationship with his ex. Left bleeding and near death in an alley after a brutal stabbing, Michael caught a single glimpse of a compassionate stranger before he slipped into the blackness that came to claim him.Recovery has been an arduous journey for him, a hard fought return to some semblance of normalcy, though his life is now spent buried in his work, and fighting to forget. Trust and love are no longer words in his vocabulary—they are words that he once used freely, until they came back to betray him so forcefully.
One criticism that Montgomery has received about the series is that there is an obvious backstory that she alludes to but does not explain in detail. This is because the series was inspired by a much larger, unpublished project. Michele explains it as being an attempt to seamlessly weave the pertinent details of her characters' history into the main story without giving readers a huge info dump. She is sensitive to the complaints she's received from some readers, and thus is offering this blog where readers can go to learn more about the characters. They can spend as little or as much time as they want with each character.
I think the blog is really cool. It is presented in a way which feels so real. It's truly a testament to Michele's talent that when I read her blogs I forget that she is even the author. It is as if the characters have taken on an identity of their own. I encourage readers to visit the blog and judge for themselves. It's very aesthetically appealing and easy to navigate, and to be blunt: the dudes on there are fucking hot!
I've enjoyed the initial blog posts and look forward to much more, and I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Dammit! Thanks Michele for creating such an amazing fictional world.
